I know what it feels like to move through the world feeling like you don't quite fit — not because something is wrong with you, but because the world wasn't designed with your kind of mind in it. I get it, because I've lived it.

I'm Leanne, an integrative creative psychotherapist based in Bamber Bridge, Lancashire, working with clients online across the UK. I'm also AuDHD — something I discovered about myself while walking alongside my son through his own diagnostic pathway. That journey cracked everything open. Suddenly, so much of my own life made sense. And it completely transformed how I work with the people who come to me.

My lived experience goes beyond diagnosis. I understand school anxiety and school trauma from the inside out. I know the weight of watching your child struggle in a system that wasn't built for them. I've navigated elective home education, sat with the grief and relief of that decision, and found my way through. I understand demand avoidance — not as a behaviour to manage, but as a nervous system trying its best to stay safe.

I hold an MSc in Creative Psychotherapy, a PGCert in Advanced Counselling Skills in a Humanistic Approach, a Level 5 in Child Development, and I'm a a Workplace Trainer on the Anna Freud & NHS England National Autistic Trainer Programme. I'm registered with the NCPS. But honestly, my most important qualification is lived experience — and that's what shapes everything about how I work.

My approach to therapy is integrative and creative — which means I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all model. We might use mark making, music, sounds, movement, storytelling, or simply talking. We go at your pace. We follow what feels useful. And above all, I'll never ask you to be anything other than exactly who you are.

Therapy with me isn't about fixing you. It's about understanding yourself so deeply that the world starts to feel a little more navigable.

You might be in the right place if...

  • You or your child thinks or feels differently from those around them — with or without a diagnosis or label
  • Your child is struggling with school anxiety or has experienced school trauma
  • You're considering, or already doing, elective home education and need support navigating that
  • Demand avoidance is part of your family's life and you want a space that truly understands it
  • You're a late-diagnosed adult trying to make sense of your past through a new lens
  • Therapy has felt too rigid, too clinical or too much in the past
  • You want a therapist who won't ask you to mask, perform or be anything other than yourself
  • You're a parent who is exhausted, doing your absolute best and just needs someone in your corner
"You don't need to arrive here with the right words, a clear diagnosis, or any idea what you need. You just need to arrive."

How therapy with me works

01
Integrative

I draw from multiple therapeutic modalities — person-centred, creative, somatic and more — so the approach fits you, not the other way around.

02
Creative

Talking isn't always the most natural way in. We might use mark making, music, sounds, movement, metaphor or storytelling — whatever opens things up most gently for you.

03
Low Demand

Sessions are flexible and pressure-free. There's no agenda you have to follow, no homework you must do. We go at your pace, always.

04
Whole-Self

I'm interested in all of you — your nervous system, your history, your creativity, your relationships. Nothing is irrelevant. Nothing is too much.

Things people often ask

Do I need a diagnosis to work with you? +
Absolutely not. I work with self-identifying neurodivergent people as well as those with a formal diagnosis. Many of my clients are mid-pathway, or navigating a system that has been slow to recognise them. You don't need a piece of paper to deserve support.
What does a session actually look like? +
No two sessions look the same — and that's intentional. We might talk, draw, use objects or metaphor, move around, or sit in silence for a bit. I follow your lead. There's no script, no worksheets you have to fill in, and no pressure to perform being okay when you're not.
How much does therapy cost? +
Individual therapy sessions are £50 per therapeutic hour. Parent and family support sessions are also £50 for 60 minutes. Creative workshops and school consultations are priced on request depending on format and scope. Payment is taken in advance of each session by bank transfer or card. If you have any questions about fees, please don't hesitate to get in touch — I'm always happy to have an honest conversation.
My child finds it hard to talk. Can therapy still help them? +
Yes — in fact, creative therapy is often most powerful for children who find verbal communication hard. We don't need words to do meaningful work together. Art, play, movement and storytelling can all be ways in.
We're home educating. Can you still support us? +
Absolutely. I have lived experience of elective home education and understand both the freedom and the complexity it brings. Online sessions make it easy to fit therapy around your family's rhythm rather than the other way around.
What if I'm not sure therapy is right for me? +
That's exactly what the free intro call is for. There's no obligation, no pressure and no expectation. It's just a conversation — and if it doesn't feel right, I'll happily point you somewhere that might be a better fit.
